I reviewed Myepic, and Parlotones,
I tried my best to stay up late,
Took photos on every single date,

I bought her a dozen blogger cards,
Rebuilt the site from WordPress shards,
Called it 52Weeks, I called it smart,
But she just still didn’t want to.

I spent more on a better camera,
I played guitar as a Finkelstien rocker,
I tagged the posts with all my power,
But still she just didn’t want to.

I wrote reviews a hundred lines,
I picked a bunch of top designs,
I walked her through the noisy confines,
But she just even then didn’t want to.
She just never wants to.

I thought I’d try another tack,
I watched a gig played by The Kick,
I made Technorati link right back,
But she just laughed and said
that she just didn’t want to.

I thought I’d have another go,
Registered up with Amotomu,
I felt like Marcel Marceau
must feel when she said
that she just never wanted to.
She just didn’t want to.

I got the no blogaward blues.

The Blog Awards turned out to be a darn good evening. A slightly different, slightly more off-the-wall crowd was present for this event. It was great to see Peas and Third World Ant again, and to meet the infamous TV star Jonathan Cherry. Also made a couple of new aquaintances, like Champagne Heathen, along the way.

And of course there’s the link love for Mike Stopforth, Aquila(photos), Victoire, Vincent, Graham Knox and Wired Gecko.

Still more impressive was the work done by The Missing Link team. No later than an hour after the awards were finished they had turned their video footage taken during the ceremony into a two minute polished and edited clip of the 2007 SA Blog Awards with music and captions, all while giving the illusion of playing foosball (They had a sekret weapon). That is an incredible turnaround time, and apparently something the Links are notorious for. I am well impressed. If you need a schnazzy biz presentation I’m convinced they’re your solution.
