Angry Eminem is Good Eminem

Gotta admit I haven’t listened to Eminem in a long long time, but I got turned on to “I Love The Way You Lie ft. Rihanna” off the new album, Recovery, and wow! the passion is back in full swing. I just can’t get enough of this track.

With 50 million views on Youtube in just over two weeks, it’s definitely a hot track.

And after listening to that track, do yourself a favour and (apologies in advance) go listen to James Blunt’s – You’re Beautiful. Pay particular attention to the guitar riff, from about 00:27 onwards. Hmmm, yes, Eminem, I see what you did there! Cowboy Chords!

Arcade Fire Reinvents Digital Content with The Suburbs

With any purchase of Arcade Fire’s new album “The Suburbs” from arcadefire.com, you also now get a digital version of the album (.m4a files) with visuals related to each song, lyrics & contextual hyperlinks.

See this video for what I’m talking about:

Arcade Fire The Suburbs Synchronized Artwork Version from ian rogers on Vimeo.

Pretty cool, huh? Why more bands don’t do this I’ll never know. Then again, it is typical for Arcade Fire to lead the pack.

Upcoming Album Watch: Brothers by The Black Keys

“This is an album by The Black Keys. The name of this album is Brothers.”

If you don’t know American blues-rock duo The Black Keys yet, you’re sure missing out on something special. It took all of thirty seconds listening to the first track off the new album “Brothers”, due out May 18, for me to get hooked right back into their raw, catchy, we’re-so-ridiculously-fucking-cool-you-can’t-handle-it sound. You can preview the entire album online now: Click here to listen to The Black Keys on NPR.org.
With production input from Danger Mouse (quite literally the Midas of the music scene right now), you know it has to be spectacular. This is definitely one for the LP collection.
